The 12th studio album has been announced for crossover thrash legends, Suicidal Tendencies, which top to bottom, promises to be filled with blistering tracks. The albums entitled World Gone Mad is the band’s first album since 13 in 2013, and the first album featuring Slayer founding drummer, Dave Lombardo. Lombardo has recently acted as their touring drummer, which has since turned into a permanent position. Soon to be released through Suicidal Records, the details of the upcoming album are beginning to surface with the release of their first single, “Clap Like Ozzy.”

With the release date set for Sept. 30, World Gone Mad will feature 11 new tracks of the bands continuous temper and attitude. The album opens with “Clap Like Ozzy,” which starts with a jarring drum intro that transitions into fluid guitar riffs, accented by exceptional bass playing. Without hesitation, the entire group enters and rips into a rapid, pounding pace, soon followed by an explosion of wailing guitar leads and a thumping chorus and melodies. This lead single hits listeners so fast it only gives them a moment’s notice to throw up the horns.

The excitement of this new release will provide fans with the level of energy they have come to know and love with every Suicidal album. You can feel the power, you can feel the rage, you may even want to throw on the classic Mike Muir bandana and thrash along with him.

A song about the stage presence of the Prince of Darkness just seems to fit the mold for all things heavy metal and all things Suicidal Tendencies. Like the title reads, the chorus calls for everyone to clap like Ozzy. Along with jumping up and down, holding the mic, fans of Ozzy know his repetitive, energetic clapping is his most frequent antic on stage. Ozzy always gestures fans to clap along with him, and Suicidal Tendencies have made it so metal-heads never forget to clap for the decades of classic metal anthems.

Lombardo recently spoke to Metal Wani regarding the upcoming album and had this to say: “I think it’s very typical and very traditional Suicidal Tendencies… I love it. It takes me back to how it all started, which was that punk attitude.”

As fans anxiously await the release of World Gone Mad, they also have a long line of shows to look forward to as the group plans to promote the upcoming album on a two month tour with Megadeth, Amon Amarth, Metal Church and Havok on Megadeth’s Dystopia tour, also set for this September.
